New Scouts will be assigned to a regular patrol and will have an older Scout in the troop who has achieved an upper rank assigned to assist them. Troop Guides and a New Scout ASM assist new Scouts during their first year to achieve the rank of First Class within the first 12-18 months. New Scouts will need a uniform and basic supplies, and complete all BSA paperwork and medical forms.
