Financial Assistance and Camperships

< 1 min read

Scouting is open to all, regardless of their ability to pay. Limited financial assistance from the council may be available to help pay for uniform “Class A” shirts, handbooks, and certain council-sponsored camps. There are also national “high adventure” camps who offer partial “camperships” for students demonstrating financial need.

Troop 5109 has also established a small fund to cover a portion of costs for some camps, leadership trainings, and other troop-organized activities (such as merit badge experiences, etc.). Limited opportunities are also available for Scouts who qualify. Qualifications include financial need, active membership in the troop, and participation in troop fundraising. Please see the Treasurer or Committee Chair to inquire about any of the above confidential applications.
