Basic Scout Troop Organization

< 1 min read

The troop is divided into patrols, usually groups of 6 to 10 Scouts.  The troop elects a Senior Patrol Leader, who works with the Scoutmaster to appoint other roles such as Instructor, Quartermaster, Scribe, etc. Each patrol elects a patrol leader (PL) and the PL chooses an assistant. The Scouts vote on a patrol name, establish a patrol cheer and make a patrol flag.  Elections occur twice a year in February and August, and scouts serve for 6 months.
